Donald B. Schwendenman, 70, of Milford and formerly of Medway died April 14 in a single car accident on Rte. 495 in Marlborough. He was the husband of Janet (Tringle) Schwendenman.
Born in Medway, July 17, 1940, the son of the late Harold and Mabel (Osborne) Schwendenman, Mr. Schwendenman was raised in Medway and had lived in Milford for the past 44 years.
He was a graduate of the Norfolk County Agricultural School in Walpole.
A mechanic all of his life, he had worked for Norman Green in Medway for ten years and formerly at Reska’s Gulf Station in Medway.
Mr. Schwendenman was a member of the Medway American Legion Post 367 and the Franklin Lodge of Elks.
Don served in the Army during the early 1960’s.
He enjoyed NASCAR, his yearly trip to Florida, having coffee with his friends and family and being with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Deborah Shaw-Deggendorf and her husband John of Mendon, Sandra Egan and her husband William of Mendon, Harvey Eno of Milford, Scott Schwendenman of Mendon and Brian Shaw and his wife Elizabeth of Milford.
He is also survived by his siblings, Judith Gutterson of Weybridge , Vermont, Dorothy Poutas of Medway, Madeline Scanlin of Houston, Texas, Karl Schwendenman of Quincy, Phyllis Schwendenman of Hull and Bruce Schwendenman of Roswell, Georgia.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Liam Egan, Megan Shaw, Carly Egan, Montana Eno, Lauren Shaw, Ryan Shaw, and Payton Shaw, and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 20 in the West Medway Community Church at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in West Medway.
