Obituary

LEICESTER: Kenneth J. Lafayette 88 of 599 Henshaw St. in the Rochdale section of Leicester, died Saturday, April 16 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 55 years, Adele M. (Riley) Lafayette, a son Paul K. Lafayette and his wife Shannon of Leicester, two daughters Carole M. Kuczarski and her husband Stephen of Springfield and Diane M. Gustafson and her husband David of New Braintree, five grandchildren Laura, Michael and Cara Kuczarski, Melissa and Kristina Gustafson and two great grandchildren Ava Kuczarski and Thomas Moore, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lafayette worked as an inspector for Morgan Construction Co. in Worcester for 15 years, retiring in 1988.

He was born in Shrewsbury, the son of Henry J. and Harriet M. (Parks) Lafayette and graduated from Commerce High in Worcester. He later served his country during WWII and then the Korean War with the U.S. Army, being discharged as a Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Shannon- Davis American Legion Post – 205 in Rochdale. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening, making fudge, and crossword puzzles.

Calling hours are to be held from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 in the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St. Leicester. A Prayer Service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. Burial in the Mass. Memorial Veterans’ Cemetery, Agawam will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to N.E.A.D.S.
