Conway, SC.– Leon Doiron, 97, died April 11, 2011 in Agape Skilled Rehab of Conway, SC. Following a brief illness.
He was born in New Brunswick, Canada on January 24, 1914 the son of Cesaire and Cesarie (Lantaigne) Doiron.
He was a longtime resident of Manchester prior to relocating to South Carolina.
He served his country during World War II in the US Army.
He worked in construction as a superintendant for Harvey Construction for over 40 years.
He was a member of American Legion Jutras Post.
He was predeceased by his wife Yvonne (Boissonneault) Doiron in 1974, two sons, Leon Doiron Jr., Raymond Doiron, and a daughter Marie Dunston.
Family members include one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Paulette) Maynard of Conway, SC., one son Wilfred Doiron, one sister Magella Cormier of Bath, ME., 10 grandchildren, several great, great great, and great great great grandchildren.
Services: A calling hour will take place on Tuesday from 9 to 10 AM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St., Manchester. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday following the calling hour at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Cathedral Chapel.
Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
