NEW BEDFORD… Elmer G. “Swede” Brevik, Jr., 85, of Westport died Thursday, January 22, 2004 at the Sacred Heart Home after a brief illness. He was the husband of Concorde (Bastille) Brevik.
Born in Sioux City, Iowa, son of the late Elmer and Elizabeth (Bennett) Brevik he resided in the Town of Westport for most of his life.
He was formerly employed by the Town of Westport as a police officer until his retirement in 1978. Mr. Brevik was a United States Army veteran of WWII and a member of American Legion Post 145 of Westport. He was a communicant of Saint George Church, Westport.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Paul G. Brevik of Westport; a daughter Ann Marie Bouchard of Westborough, MA; 1 sister: Delores Clifton of Lynnwood, WA; 1 granddaughter; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Gordon Brevik and Donald Brevik.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
