Frances M. Gehling, 64, of Londonderry, NH died Wednesday April 13, 2011 at her home along with her beloved daughter Rebecca "Becky" Gehling as a result of a house fire. She was born March 13, 1947 in Providence, RI, a daughter of the late Jacob and Evelyn (Gurwitz) Felder. Raised in Brookline, MA, she was a Londonderry resident since 1986, formerly of Hudson, MA.
Full of passion and conviction, Fran was active in the Londonderry Democratic Party and was selected to be involved with "Leadership for Londonderry." She taught Transitions Weight Loss and Weight Watchers classes. She made many friends easily; forming connections while helping others cope with Alzheimer's disease and weight loss. Her involvement with politics also allowed her to meet and connect with many people. Above all else, Fran was a wife, mother and grandmother with a profound love of family.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jack D. Gehling of Londonderry, her two sons, Josh Gehling and his wife Lyndsey of Londonderry, Jesse Gehling of Portsmouth, NH, her granddaughter, Jamie Gehling of Londonderry, two brothers, Joseph Felder and his wife Merle of Peoria, IL, David Felder and his wife Judy of Tallahassee, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for Fran and her daughter Becky will be held Monday April 18th from 3pm to 8pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00pm at the Pillsbury Cemetery, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fran and Becky Gehling Trust Fund, Bank of America, 57 Crystal Ave., Derry, NH 03038 or to any Bank of America.
