James M. Devlin, 57, of Dartmouth died Friday, April 15, 2011 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Gail K. (Ragnaldsen) Devlin to whom he was married for 33 years.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Bernard R. and Mildred (Conway) Devlin, he was a lifelong resident of the Greater New Bedford area. Prior to retirement, he worked for Verizon for 39 years and served as Steward of the Local #2223 Telephone Worker’s Union. Mr. Devlin enjoyed riding horses.
Including his wife, survivors include 4 sons: Edmund H. Salomonsen, Jr. and his wife Rebecca, Paul E. Salomonsen, Lars D. Salomonsen and Michael B. Devlin all of Dartmouth; a daughter: Sonnja E. Devlin of Fall River; a daughter-in-law: Megan Silva; and 11 grandchildren: Ashley, Lars, Bethany, Kayla, Edmund, Michael, Alyssa, Hailey, Amber, Cole and Kaylee.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Potter Funeral Home at 7:30 P.M.
Calling hours Tuesday from 4 – 7:30 P.M. prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
