Obituary

WEST BOYLSTON-Chester K. “Chet” Grosvenor, Jr., 86, of West Boylston died Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. He leaves his sister Lucille Burdett of Gardner, cousins, many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. Chester was predeceased by his brother David J. Grosvenor and two sisters, Gladys Bauckman and Gerdaline Anderson.
He was born and raised in Princeton, the son of Chester K. and Bertha L. (Clark) Grosvenor and graduated from Princeton High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Chester was employed at Heald Manufacturing, retiring after 40 years. He was a longtime and active member of the West Boylston First Congregational Church where he also sang in the church choir for 50 years. Music was Chester’s passion and an integral part of his life. He also sang in the Worcester Choir. Chester’s family would like to thank the caring hospice staff at the Rose Monahan Home for the wonderful care which he received.
The funeral will be held on Monday, April 18 from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston with a service at 11:00 AM at the West Boylston First Congregational Church, 26 Central Street. A visiting hour will also be held on Monday from 9:45-10:45 AM in the funeral home. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Princeton will be private.
