William A. Dearth, 61, of Derry, NH died Friday April 1, 2011 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry. Bill was born in E. Derry, NH on August 10, 1949 a son of Janice T. (True) Dearth and the late Howard S. Dearth. Bill was a lifelong resident of Derry and E. Derry and a 1967 graduate of Pinkerton Academy. He served with the US Army during the Vietnam era. Bill was the owner and operator of Bill Dearth Auto and Truck in E. Derry for many years. His experience with stockcar racing and automotive and auto body repair allowed him the skills to work wonders with cars. Bill had a great sense of humor and could always be counted on for a good internet joke or story. He was very knowledgeable with computers and especially enjoyed making all his own greeting cards.
He is survived by his mother, Janice T. Dearth of E. Derry, his brother, Wayland Dearth of E. Derry, his sister, Lin Conger of E. Derry, his longtime companion, Cindy Nault of Derry, also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Following cremation, a graveside service with military honors was held on Monday April 18th at 1:30pm in the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. Memorial donations may be made to the Food Pantry c/o First Baptist Church, 4 Crystal Ave., Derry, NH 03038 or to the charity of ones choice. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is assisting the family with arrangements.
