Obituary

Cara Lynn Shone, 26 of Truro, MA died early Saturday morning following a motor vehicle accident in Eastham, MA. Born in Denver Colorado, she was the daughter of Sam Shone of Sedalia, CO and Debbie (Smith) Shone of Truro and the maternal granddaughter Marjorie Smith of Lakewood, Colorado. Cara was raised in Sedalia and graduated from Douglas County High School, in Castle Rock, Colorado, class of 2002. She loved the outdoors, especially the mountains. After high school she moved to California and worked at the Evergreen Lodge in Yosemite and also the Mammoth Ski Area in Mammoth, CA. She moved back to Colorado and lived in Parker before moving to Truro, MA in February of 2006. She was a talented artist with a good sense of humor. Besides skiing and snowboarding she enjoyed dancing and was seen as a great dancer. At the time of her death she was working at Far Land in Provincetown.
Besides her parents and grandmother, she is survived by her beloved son Jaxon Blue Kenny of Truro, her brother, Kevin C. Shone of Sedalia. She was the niece of Charlene and Ron Salzer of Hayesville, NC, John T. Smith of Lakewood, Colorado, and Ernie and Mary Valdes of Castle Rock, Colorado. She was also the granddaughter of the late Charles Smith, and the late Larry and Annabelle (Holt) Shone. She is the cousin of Marina and Natalie Valdes of Castle Rock.

A Memorial Service is being planned. As soon as the date, time and place have been decided, it will be published here. A condolence message for the family can be left here on this website.
