Rudolph J. “Rudy” Caruso passed away on April 12, 2011. He was 84 years old.
Born in Melrose, Rudy was a lifelong resident of Malden and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked for many years at the Converse Rubber Factory in Malden and was the facility manager for Caruso Apartments in Melrose. Rudy loved listening to and was an avid enthusiast of Big Band Music.
Rudy was the devoted husband of Annie “Mary” (DiSario) Caruso, his wife of 57 years. He was the beloved father of Donna D’Alessandro of Salem, Corinne Riley and her husband Dan of Nashua, NH, Rudy Caruso and his wife Sheryl of Haverhill and John Caruso and his wife Lena of Revere. Rudy was the dear brother of Leonard Caruso of Saugus and the late Elizabeth Iovino. He was the cherished grandfather to Nicole and Gina D’Alessandro, Danielle Hatch, Kristen Riley, Michael and Anthony Caruso, Kaitlyn, Cynthia and Kloie Caruso and Gabriella and Joseph Caruso. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held from the A.J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Saturday, April 16th at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Friday, April 15th from 5-8 p.m. Entombment will be in the family mausoleum at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
