Walter J. Dubois, 83, of South Dennis and formerly of Franklin died April 10 at Eagle Pond in Dennis following a long illness. He was the husband of the late Audrey J. (Newcomb) Dubois who died in 2009.
Born in Worcester, October 24, 1927, the son of the late Napoleon and Dorothea Dubois, Mr. Dubois had lived in Franklin for most of his life before moving to South Dennis 10 years ago.
Mr. Dubois had been a truck driver for Kasindorfs Bakery and St. Johnsbury Trucking.
He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
Mr. Dubois had active in Franklin Boy Scouts as scoutmaster of Troop 126 in Franklin and was awarded the silver beaver award.
He is survived by his children, Walter J. Dubois Jr. of Bradford, MA, Kevin Dubois of Centerville and Donna Jean Whalen of Reading.
He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 18 in Pine Grove Cemetery in Milford at 10:00 a.m.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin 131 Main St. in Franklin.
