Carolyn Fulwood Hill, 68, of Tifton died Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Dr. W. Ches Smith III and Dr. Wayne Roe will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Scott Fulp, P. D. Fulwood, Bunky Kennedy, Dr. Joe Turner, Jerry Shiver, David McMillan, Jerry Heller and Dale Pflug will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Joy Sunday school class of Tifton’s First Baptist Church, Dr. Charlie Griffin, Robert Chandler, Glenda Kicklighter, Darlene Griffin, Tina Bragg, Diane Whitehead, Teri Futch, Chrystal Kendrick, Heather Bennett and Nicole Fulp. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 14, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Hill was born on February 26, 1943 in Tift County and was the daughter of Paul Fulwood, Jr. and Margaret Harrell Fulwood, both deceased. She was the office manager of Hill’s Dental Practice and a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 25 years. She graduated from Emory University in 1964, where she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority.
Mrs. Hill is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert “Bobby” Hill of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Kim Hill of Valdosta and David and Adrienne Hill of Albany; one brother, Paul Fulwood III of Tifton; one sister, Celeste Bowen of Tifton; and two grandchildren, Braxton Hill and Porter Hill.
