Obituary

Harry Hinchliffe a lifelong resident of Canton died unexpectedly April 11, 2011. He was 84.

Harry worked as an oil burner technician for the Needham Oil Company for over 25 years until retiring in 1988. He also worked as a crossing guard for the Town of Canton at Cedarcrest and Oakdale for 20 years.

Harry was a member of the VFW in Stoughton, the American Legion Beatty Post # 24 in Canton, the Canton Town Club, and the Senior Men’s Club in Canton. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union Local #25 and a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Beloved husband of Lillian A. Hinchliffe (Schwarz). Devoted father of Donald W. Blatt and his wife Arlene of N.J., Dennis W. Blatt and his wife Patricia of NV, Thomas W. Blatt and his wife Mary of Canton, Linda Beckman of Brockton, and Lorie Wellman and her husband Michael of Raynham. Brother of Gladys Knott of Canton. Harry is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours from the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home 210 Sherman St., Canton Friday 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday April 16, 2011 in the United Church of Christ 1541 Washington St. Canton at 10 AM.
