Manchester– Donat J. “Pete” Proulx, 90, died peacefully at The Arbors of Bedford on April 9, 2011 following a period of declining health.
A lifelong Manchester resident, he was born on November 20, 1920 to Eugene and Rose (Proulx) Proulx.
He was a graduate of Manchester West High School, class of 1940 A.
He served his country in the 8th Army-Air Force in World War II, 33 months of which were in the European Theatre. He was a member of the American Legion Post 79.
A devout Roman Catholic, he was a parishioner of the Parish of the Transfiguration. He was also a member of the Monastery of the Precious Blood League of One Thousand Men.
Members of his family include a sister, Lillian Crusan of Des Moines, IA., several cousins and many nieces and nephews.
In His Life: He was predeceased by his wife Mildred (Langlois) Proulx who died on January 24,1995; and seven brothers: Antonio, Sylvio, Camille, Roger, Marcel, Oscar, and Louis Proulx; four sisters: Aldora Pratte, Cecile Proulx, Albina Lahey, Germaine Proulx.
Services-Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8 PM at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM in Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelley St.. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
