Obituary

Del Lenwood DeBoe, age 69, formerly of 2522 Beechwood Drive, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at Danville Regional Medical Center. He had been in declining health for the past two years.

Born March 17, 1942 in Danville, he was the son of the late Moses L. DeBoe and Maggie Davis DeBoe. He lived in Danville since 1981. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and respectfully served in Vietnam; he retired 20 years thereafter as Master Sgt. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Altus Oklahoma. Mr. DeBoe was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. DeBoe is survived by three sons: David L. DeBoe and wife Joan C. of Fulton, Missouri, Daniel H. “Dan” DeBoe of Dry Fork, Virginia, and Donald W. “Don” DeBoe and wife Kim G. of Dry Fork, Virginia; two granddaughters: Kacey M. DeBoe and Selene L. DeBoe; one great-grandson: Parker D. Robertson; and a special friend, Sarah Dix of the home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Danville Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be officiated by American Legion, Post 1097. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at Swicegood Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at 520 Pinecroft Road in Danville.
