Obituary

Nabih Choueiri of Boston’s South End, passed away on April 6, 2011. He was 89 years old.

Nabih was born in Machghara, Lebanon Sept 25, 1921 to George & Houda Choueiri (Mirhajj). He arrived in Boston to his Aunt Helen Keir in 1956. That year he met Josephine and they married on Nov 18th at the Annunciation Cathedral in the South End of Boston. Nabih was blessed with the gift of an inspired voice and became cantor for the Annunciation Cathedral for 30 years. He worked for the Green Shoe /Stride Rite Company for 25 years. He was also a long time member & president of the Lebanese American Men’s Social Club on Shawmut Ave, where he enjoyed the company of friends from the Old Country and the local community. He continued to reside in the South End for the rest of his life, where he enjoyed his friends, family and the life he loved.

Nabih was the dear and devoted husband of the late Josephine (Moussally). Loving father of Heather Choueiri-Orfaly and her husband Robert J. Orfaly of Las Vegas, Joyce Choueiri Signor and her husband Said Signor of Winchester and Bruce Choueiri of Las vegas. Loving grandfather “Giddo” of Jessica, Leslie and Kyle Signor all of Winchester. Dear brother of the late Ablalan, Emily, Madeline, Mary and Kafa. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews in Canada, US and Lebanon.

Nabih's Funeral Service was held April 11, 2011 Our Lady of the Annunciation Melkite Cathedral, 7 VFW Parkway, WEST ROXBURY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nabih’s memory may be made to the Cathedral.

Interment Mt. Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury.
