WORCESTER-Mabel E. (Gillespie) Bissonnette, 77, of 8 Knowlton Avenue, died Tuesday, January 20th after being stricken ill at home. Her husband Lawrence P. Bissonnette died in 2001. She leaves her son Lawrence B. “Buster” Bissonnette of Barre, her daughter Darlene M. Bissonnette of Houston, TX, 3 sisters Madeline A. Veroneau of Worcester, Shirley Morrow of Spencer and Beverly M. Savage of Worcester and several nephews and nieces. 3 brothers George W., Franklin and Ralph F. Gillespie and her sister Phyllis M. Gillespie predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Joseph and Madeline E. (Wheeler) Gillespie and graduated from Commerce High School. Mrs. Bissonnette worked as a packer for the Handy Pad Co. for many years until her retirement. Previously she worked for the Parker & Harper Co. in Worcester, where she met her husband. She enjoyed crocheting.
The funeral service is Saturday, January 24th at 10:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
