Obituary

Ms. Thuresa Lawson, age 88, widow of the late Dallas Lawson, of Danbury, passed away on, April 6, 2011 at her home. She was born on January 3, 1923 to the late Sidney and Hessie Caudle Greenwood in Surry County. Ms. Lawson worked as a housewife and was a member of Lawsonville Baptist Church. Ms. Lawson is survived by four sons and daughter-in-laws, Carvel Lawson of Winston-Salem, Larry (Judy) Lawson, Kenneth (Sue) Lawson, Phillip Lawson, all of Danbury; three daughters, Carolyn Hill of Reidsville, Olivia Pryor of Ruffin, Linda Martin of Westfield; 15 grandchildren, Will Lawson, Jennifer Lawson, Chad Tucker, Justin Bulla, Ashley Moss, Derrick Lawson, Jonathan Hill, Matthew Hill, Marvin Hill, Anthony Hill, Michael Martin, Ronnie Martin, Timothy Martin, Jeffery Martin, Rodney Pryor; 13 great-grand children; and two sisters, Era Whitt of King, May Mabe of Mayodan. Ms. Lawson was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, and one sister. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Cox Needham Chapel of Danbury at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Donald McHone officiating with interment will follow at Hardbank cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
