Eileen L. (Norton) Barbrick, 82, a resident of Naperville, Illinois since 2002 and a former lifelong resident of Salem, Massachusetts, passed away on March 27, 2011 at her daughter’s home in Naperville, Illinois. She was the wife of the late Lester P. Barbrick with whom she shared 51 years of marriage until his death in 2001.
Born in Salem, Massachusetts on December 5, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Peter J. and Phyllis L. (Osiecki) Norton. She was raised and educated in Salem and graduated from Salem High School in 1946. Eileen was employed as a bookkeeper with Dexter’s Furriers in Salem for over 30 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Laurie L. Delande and her husband Robert of Naperville, Illinois; her grandson, Keith R. Delande and his wife Allison of Prospect, Kentucky; her twin great-grandchildren, Megan and Scott Delande of Prospect, Kentucky; her sister, Patricia A. Munroe of Snellville, Georgia; her sister-in-law, Jacqueline Norton Kelley; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Edward T. Norton, and her brother-in law, Arthur J. Munroe.
Arrangements: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd. Salem on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 10 a.m., followed by a committal service in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours will be Tuesday 3 to 6 p.m. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem.
