Ronald Wayne Castonguay Jr., age 35, of Fair Acres Circle, Mystic, passed away unexpectedly April 4, 2011 at his home.
Ron was born September 1, 1975 in Groton CT, the son of Ronald Castonguay Sr. and Jean (Schmidt) Patterson.
He was a devoted father to his son Max, with whom he enjoyed playing games and sports. The two of them were inseparable. Ron was an avid Eagles and Yankees Fan. He was a talented writer, having written a play that was performed at the West Side Middle School.
He will be remembered as a very funny person, having performed Stand-Up Comedy throughout New London and Hartford. Ron was a person who would do anything for anyone and would give the shirt off of his back if he could. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son Max and daughter Charlotte; his grandmother Gilberta Bent; his step-mother Babbette Castonguay; a sister, Veronica Castonguay and her children Hunter, Hailie, Sydney and Serena; an aunt, Joan Filemyr and husband Henry Jr., an uncle John C. Schmidt, and wife Margaret; his cousins Henry Filemyr III, John Filemyr, Joan Mary Thomas and husband Scott; and by his special friends Hollie Beaupre, Ed and Elaine Mourachian, Lori Tibbens and Deb and Mike.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, East Main Street, Mystic on Friday at 10 am. Guests are requested to arrive at church no later that 9:50am. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Old Mystic.
