Nancy J. (Pope) Briggs, 72, of Medway died April 6 in Milford Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with emphysema. She was the wife of Robert A. Briggs.
Born in Waltham, January 9, 1939, the daughter of the late Walter E. Pope and Helen E. (Kavanaugh) Gallo, Mrs. Briggs had lived in Medway for over 35 years.
Nancy, a homemaker, was also an important member of the family farm, Briggs Farm of Medway.
She loved to crochet, bake and she loved animals. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids as much as possible.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Daniel J. Cormier of Woonsocket, RI, Shawn M. Cormier and his wife Joanne of Woonsocket, Nancy J. Cormier of Medway, James R. Briggs and his wife Jenny of Montrose, Iowa, and Andrew C. Briggs of Medway.
She is also survived by her sisters, Carol Yerardi and her husband Richard of Framingham, Diane Alexander of Franklin and her late husband Sevy, and Darlene Sparks of PA.
She is also survived by 4 grandsons.
A family service will be private. There will be a celebration of her life later in the Summer.
