Obituary

FRAMINGHAM: Harold H. Haswell, 87, died peacefully in the care and comfort of his family at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Residence in Wayland following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Framingham on December 31, 1923 the son of the late Leslie Haswell and Mildred (Robie) Haswell.
Harold is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was the brother of the late Evelyn Barton, Leslie “Sam” Haswell, Herbert Haswell and Barbara Brown.
Harold has been a life long resident of Framingham and graduated from Framingham High School. He attended Wentworth Institute in Boston and for many years was associated with Polaroid Corp in Waltham as a Product Tester.
He was a devoted and loving brother, uncle and friend to his family and will be greatly missed by all of the lives that he touched. He loved the outdoors and nature and was an accomplished gardener raising vegetables and tomatoes at his home. He loved to raise day lily’s, tiger lily’s and was known for these beautiful varieties of flowers and crossbred many other breeds of lily’s. He also was devoted to his many dogs and cats.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 1:00 pm in the Haswell family lot in Rural Cemetery, 11 Cordaville Rd (Rte 85) Southborough.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial gifts in Harold’s memory may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home of Wayland.
