Thomas A. Salemy Jr. of Odessa, FL passed away unexpectedly on April 3, 2011 at the age of 50.
Tom was born in Boston, MA and graduated from Boston College. He met his wife, Janet (Sullivan), when he was ten years old and was happily married to her for the past 27 years. They lived in Florida where he was a senior vice president of Investments at Raymond James. He was the proud father to four children, Tommy 25, Justin 24, Sarah 13, and Alexandra 9.
Simply said, Tom was first and foremost a family man. He was what we would call a quiet hero, never seeking recognition but was someone who could be counted on both at work and home. He devoted his life to his wife and kids.
An example to sum up Tom perfectly would be this: When Tommy & Justin were five & six years old Tom had $35 in the family checking account. Instead of spending the money on himself or other needs he used it to register Tommy & Justin for little league baseball. On any given day, Tom could be found watching Ally and Sarah at the soccer field or helping them at home with their schoolwork. While Tom enjoyed success in both work & life he always put his family first. He kept that mentality his whole life, making sure his family never lacked while he went without.
While Tom’s life was cut short, he made an unforgettable impact on all of us. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Tom was the loving son of Thomas Sr. and his wife Judith of Mashpee, and Doris Salemy of Needham. Dear brother of Cheryl Salemy of Needham. Also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tom's Funeral Mass was celebrated April 8, 2011 at Our Lady of the Cedars of Lebanon Church in Boston.
Relatives and friends in Florida are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service for Thomas on Monday Apr. 11, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church 12708 N. Dale Mabry Tampa, FL 33618.
