
Samuel Harry "Jack" Reynolds, age 81, died Friday, April 1,2011 in Roman Eagle Memorial Home.
Born April 19, 1929 in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late William Edgar Reynolds and Rose Inman Reynolds. He was married to Mildred Whitley Reynolds, who predeceased him. He worked as a machinist for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Mr. Reynolds was a veteran of the US Navy having served during World War II. He was of the Episcopalian Faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia R. “Susie” McLemore of Wentworth, NC, and Dorothy R. Moorefield of Milton, NC; one brother: William E. Reynolds, Jr. of Danville; one sister: Dorothy Reynolds Jackson of Virginia Beach; one half-brother: Harold D. Reynolds of Danville; 7 grandchildren: Timmy White, Rodney Hardy, Randy Hardy, Chris Hardy, Josh Aldridge, Jamie Eckemoff, Abby Rose Reynolds; 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by one son, Ronnie Dale Reynolds.
A memorial service officiated by Rev. Gil Hawks will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
