Inez “Pat” Barber Callahan, 72, of Tifton died Friday, April 1, 2011, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2011, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Jimmie Hinson and Rev. Dillard Ensley will officiate with burial to follow in Lenox Cemetery. Shane Connell, Derrick parsons, Joe Groves, David Kelly, Craig Barber and Charles Ivey will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 4, 2011, from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Callahan was born on August 29, 1938 in Cook County and was the daughter of John Henry Barber and Retha Hinson Barber, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Tami Lyn Lenz; and one brother, Sonny Barber. She was a homemaker and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Lenox.
Mrs. Callahan is survived by her husband, Charles Horace Callahan of Tifton; four sons, Kenneth John Connell of Tifton, Roy Charles Connell of Tifton, Charles Callahan Jr. of Moultrie and Chester Lamar Callahan of Jackson; two daughters, Sharon Weitala of Tifton and Janet Kay Weldon of Moultrie; one brother, J. T. Barber of Tifton; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
