Perry Gilbert Barbour, 83, of Danville, died Friday, April 1, 2011 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born in Chatham on July 19, 1927, he was the son of the late William Henry Barbour and Cora Walden Barber.
On December 13, 1952 he married Vastie Boswell Barbour who predeceased him. He had worked for American
Retail Association; he was a veteran of the US Army; He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion,
Red Men and DAV. He was of the Protestant faith.
Mr. Barbour is survived by one brother, Clarence Barbour. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased
by three brothers, William Edward Barbour, Dewey Aubrey Barbour and James Lynwood Barbour, and three sisters,
Estelle B. Norton, Doris B. Lewis and Mozelle B. Hawker.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 3:00 at Highland Burial Park with Elder Pete Boswell officiating.
Military honors will be given by the American Legion Dan River Post 1097 Honor Guard. The family will receive friends
at Barker Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 2, 2011 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
