Dorothy Rose Potter, 79, of 23 Wheelock St., passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in her home.
She leaves one brother, Richard R. Potter of Florida, two sisters; Jane P. Anderson and her husband Stuart of Sutton, and Johanne E. Walker of Oxford, and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was born in Springfield, Vermont a daughter of Roy G. and Margaret A. (Grover) Potter.
She was an elementary school teacher in Millbury and Oxford for many years and retired several years ago.
Dorothy was a graduate of Worcester State College.She enjoyed camping and swimming.
Dorothy also enjoyed her long term membership at Old Sturbridge Village, as well as periodical gatherings in Keene, N.H. with her sisters, her cousin Judith Maclaren of Quinebaug, Ct.,and her three aunts; Leona King, Louise Page and Joyce Hill all of Springfield, Vt.
Calling hours for Dottie will be Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 5 to 7 PM at the Robert J. Miller-Oxford Funeral Home, 247 Main St. (Route 12) in Oxford.
The Funeral will be Monday, April 4, 2011 with a Service at 11 AM in The First Congregational Church of Sutton, 307 Boston Rd. (On-the Common) in Sutton.
Burial will be in Howard Cemetery.
