Charles W. Garnhum age 87 of Sharon, formerly of Canton passed away March 31st at home. Born in Dedham, he was raised in Canton and attended Canton Schools. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II. Charles worked as the Supervisor of Maintenance for the Sharon Housing Authority for many years before retiring and also worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years with his company Garnhum & Morganelli. He was a member of the VFW in Sharon & was a former member of the Sharon Special Police Assn for many years before retiring in 1983 as a Captain. Beloved husband of Mary E. (Nikituk). Father of Sandra Garnhum-Liu of CA & Susan McKinnon & her husband Kevin of Foxboro. Grandfather of Stacy McCracken, Erin Terry and Anna Liu. Great grandfather of Kevin Bernard & Emily McCracken. Brother of Marie Cosato of CA, Marguerite Garnhum of Canton & the late George, Daniel, John & Richard Garnhum, Edith Richard & Catherine Giammarco. Private graveside services for the family will be held at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Our Lady of Sorrows Church 59 Cottage St. Sharon, MA 02067.
