Bruce MacDonald, 54, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 while vacationing in Florida. He was the beloved husband of Joanna (Osgood) MacDonald, with whom he shared twenty-five years of marriage.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Ernest and Eunice (Crossland) MacDonald, he was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School.
A longtime Danvers resident, Bruce was employed as the produce manager at McKinnon’s in Danvers for twenty years and had previously been employed at the former Your Market in Danvers.
He loved to spend summer vacations at Camp Wellville in Ashburnham with family and friends. He and his wife Joanna loved to travel to Las Vegas and the Belmont Stakes and enjoyed spending time at their condominium in Florida. He also enjoyed white water rafting. He was a member of the Polish Club, the Elm Club, and the Touchdown Club of Danvers.
In addition to his loving wife, he leaves his in-laws, Robert and Josephine Osgood of Danvers, his sisters Karen Adamo and her husband Ken and Shari Hewson and her husband Ken , all of Beverly, a niece, Kali (Adamo) Martin and her husband Matthew of Ipswich, a nephew, Kyle Hewson, a great nephew Sawyer Martin, his sisters-in-law, Joyce Clemenzi of Danvers and Roberta Osgood of Arizona, and a loving extended family. He was predeceased by a sister, Randy MacDonald, and a brother-in-law, David Osgood.
His Funeral Service will be Monday, April 4, 2011 at 10AM in the Community Covenant Church, 33 Lake St., West Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 3-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Wellville, Inc., c/o 8 Main St., Ashburnham, MA 01430 or the charity of your choice.
