Mr. George A. Corriveau, of West Roxbury, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 29 at his residence. He was born 68 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Raymond and Cecile (Morin) Corriveau. He was educated in Taunton, having graduated from the former Msgr. James Coyle High School. He received his B.S. in Chemistry from Southeastern Mass. University in North Dartmouth in 1966. From 1966 to 1967, he attended the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, Alaska. Mr. Corriveau also did graduate studies at Northeastern University in Boston. He completed his studies in Medical Laboratory Technology at the Carnegie Institute in 1979. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a Laboratory Technologist at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston for 2 years. He had previously been employed at several hospitals in the Boston area, including Childrens’ Hospital, Mass. General Hospital, the V.A. Medical Center, Jamaica Plain, Lemuel Shattuck Hospital and Tufts New England Medical Center. He was formerly employed as a Chemist. Mr. Corriveau was a member of the American Chemical Society and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed reading, woodworking and was an avid motorcyclist.
He leaves: 2 sons: Michael A. Corriveau and his wife, Patty of Pepperell, Christopher W. Corriveau and his wife, Amber of Grafton, N.H.; 1 daughter: Jennifer C. Holtcamp and her husband, Ryan of North Attleboro; 1 sister: Marguerite Colleran and her husband, Allan of Taunton; 4 grandchildren: James Corriveau of the U.S.Navy and Mason, Bella and Christina, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Paul Corriveau of Taunton and the late Richard Corriveau of Lakeville.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Saturday, April 2 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Kilmer Avenue, at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
