Chester R. Brozyna, 75, formerly of Derry, NH died Monday March 28, 2011 at the Dexter Healthcare Center in Dexter, ME after a period of declining health. Mr. Brozyna was born October 15, 1935 in Webster, MA and was a son of the late Joseph and Susan Brozyna. He was raised and educated in Webster, and was a graduate of NH College. He served in the US Navy from 1953 to 1957, during the Korean War, and retired from Delta Airlines after a long and rewarding career as a customer service representative. Mr. Brozyna was a longtime member of the American Legion Lester Chase Post # 9 of Derry, and the VFW post 1617 of Derry.
Surviving members of the family include a son and his wife, Kerry and Bridget Brozyna, a daughter Kelly Manning, five grandchildren, Lyndsey, Katherine, Shannon, Christopher and Joey, three brothers, Frank, Louis and Paul Brozyna, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Joann M. (Kelley) Brozyna in 1997.
Calling hours were held Thursday, March 31st from 5 to 8 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 27 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial with military honors followed in Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry.
