Fremont, New Hampshire – James P. (Bud) Healey Jr. 85 yrs. old and a longtime resident of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully Monday at Poplin Way assisted living facility in Fremont.
Born in Lawrence, Jim was the son of James P. and Julia (Cavanaugh) Healey.
Jim was a graduate of the Edward F. Searles High School in Methuen, class of 1942. After high school he entered the military and served his country proudly during World War II in the United States Navy before being honorably discharged at war’s end. James was retired from the USPS in Andover, Ma. where he worked for 30 years.
James enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards, swimming, golfing, traveling, and for many years enjoyed bowling. He was an avid Boston sports fan.
The widower of beloved wife Stella J. (Gaudreau) Healey, he is survived by children: Diane and husband Mark Lefebvre of Derry, NH, Kathleen Carr and William Springer of Pelham, NH, James P., III and wife Denise of Salem, NH, Michael and wife Lisa of Atkinson, NH, Maureen Donohue and Rich Monette of Londonderry, NH, and Brian Healey and fiancée Pamela Dube of Berwick, Maine., and 8 grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. His children and grandchildren were a major part of his life.
Survivors also include a sister Patricia & husband Joseph Bartolotta of North Andover. He was predeceased by sister Ceal Bodenrader.
A funeral mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be held on Friday afternoon, April 1st, at 1 o’clock in Our Lady of Good Counsel/St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth Street in Methuen. At Jim's request, there will be no calling hours."
Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
