Marie J.Leszczyk, 81, of Hopkins Avenue died Monday at North Bay Manor in Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Edwin J. Leszczyk.
Born in Buffalo, NY, she was a daughter of the late Earl J. and Isabelle (King) Pellette. She lived in Johnston since 1974.
Marie was a bookkeeper in the office of the Tax Collector in the Town of Smithfield before her retirement.
She was an avid Red Sox fan, a Girl Scouts leader and she bowled with various mixed leagues at the former Hearthside Lanes. Marie’s most precious memories were when she spent time with her children and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Mark F. Leszczyk of Smithfield and daughter, Joanne M. Allen of Johnston and two grandchildren, Erin Marie and Adam Edwin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 9:30AM in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Visitation Thursday 5-7PM in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial Private.
