Worcester – Pierre E. Soucy, 97, of Worcester died on Saturday, March 26th after an illness in St. Mary Healthcare Center.
His wife Florence M. (Comeau) Soucy died in 1987. Mr. Soucy is survived by a daughter Claire M. Turcotte of Worcester; his late son in law J.E. Paul Turcotte; two sons Richard P. Soucy and his wife Pamela of Ocala, FL and Stephen E. Soucy of Fort Smith, Arkansas; his former daughter in law Joanne Soucy of Webster, MA; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren;4 great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Pierre was the son of the late Pierre and Victoria (Paquette) Soucy and would have celebrated his 98th birthday on March 27th. He is predeceased by two brothers Henry and Arthur Soucy and three sisters Irene Hogan, Ida Bonneau and Theresa Scarborough.
Mr. Soucy is a veteran of the United States Army and worked at the former L. Farber Company in Worcester for 55 years until his retirement.
He was a member of the Worcester Homing Pigeon Club, and was a lifelong member of the former Holy Name of Jesus Church.
The funeral will be held from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street with a Mass at 10 AM on Thursday, March 31st in North American Martyrs Church 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are on Wednesday, March 30th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
