In Taunton, March 26, 2011 Veronica M. (Foster) Cahill, age 86 passed away peacefully in her sleep following a lengthy illness at Longmeadow of Taunton. Veronica was the wife of the late William Cahill. She was born in Taunton to her late parents Manuel & Cecilia (Mederois) Foster. Veronica has been a lifetime resident of Taunton and Gray Gables, Bourne, MA. She was employed at both the Raynham and Taunton Dog Tracks as the first women chart writer in the country. She also served many years as the president of the Taunton Boys Club Women’s Auxillary. Veronica enjoyed many years golfing, traveling, walking the canal and spending time at the beach with her grandchildren. Veronica is survived by her children; William Cahill of Charlotte, N.C., Susan Ross & her husband Christopher of East Freetown, Ma., and David Cahill & his wife Jane of Taunton. Her grandchildren; Kaitlin M., Kian W. and Erin Ross. Veronica also leaves her siblings; Mary McClellan and Catherine Oliver both of Taunton and the late Joseph & Richard Foster. A funeral home service will be held on Weds., March 30th at 11am. in the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. at 12:45pm.
