John F. “Frank” Callahan, 81, of Atkinson, NH died Fri., March 25th at Tufts Medical Center, Boston, MA.
Frank was born and educated in Watertown MA graduating from Newton Trade School. He also served in the US Army during the Korean War. Frank retired from the town of Salem were he was the maintenance supervisor for the DPW and he also served as a special police officer for the town of Salem. He was a resident of Salem for 27 years before moving to Atkinson in 1981. Frank was a member of the Atkinson Veterans club, Atkinson Garden club and retired Salem Police Association. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, family, volunteering, stock car racing, working on his tractor, and sports. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife Margaret until her passing in 2007.
Frank was a bright light in our lives and in the lives of all who knew him, always pleasant and very helpful to all who asked.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (McMahon) Callahan.

Sister-in-law: Judy McMahon of CT

Funeral services will be Wed., March 30th at 10AM at St. Luke the Evangelist, Plaistow, NH. Burial will be private at a later date. Calling hours will be Tues., March 29th from 4 – 8PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
