Mariana (Viveiros) Carlos, age 74, of Fall River, passed away March 24, 2011 at home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Francisco Carlos and the daughter of the late Jose Aguiar Arruda and Diamentina de Jesus (Pacheco) Arruda. Born in Santa Barbara de Santo Antonio Alem Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores, Mariana resided in Fall River since 1975. Prior to retiring, she was a Presser for the former Tiffany Sports Wear and a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
Mariana was the mother of Frank, George, John, Joseph, & Robert Carlos, Fatima Arruda, Ilda Pedro, & Adelia Carlos all of Fall River, sister of Jose & Antonio Arruda, & Trindade Soares all of Fall River, Eduardo Arruda of California, Agostinho Arruda, Maria de Santo Cristo, & Teresa Bettencourt all of Canada, Conceicao Arruda of Sao Miguel, Azores, and the late Joao Arruda. She was the grandmother of seven, great grandmother of one, and the aunt to many nieces & nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. on MONDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours SUNDAY 5-9 P.M.
