Mary D. Cable, 92, of Methuen died on Wednesday March 23, 2011 at The Nevins Centre, Methuen with her family by her side. Mary was born , raised and educated in Lawrence and has lived in Methuen for the past 10 years. Before retirement, She worked at Western Electric Co., N. Andover. She was a longtime member of First Calvary Baptist Church, N. Andover. Mary was an avid sewer and made quilts and pillows which she would generously give to all of her family and friends. She was an artist and loved to paint and enjoyed playing the organ. Mary's family would like to thank the caring staff at The Nevins Centre for the excellent care and dignity they gave to their mother.
The widow of Roland Cable, Her family members include her daughters, Alice Cable and Gloria and her husband, Kenneth Bourassa both of Methuen. She also leaves her brother, Daniel and his wife, Marilyn DiPierro of Newport News, VA and her sister, Jelsomina DiSalvo of Lawrence, MA and her grandchildren, Tina Quick and Jennifer and her husband, Jeremy Beland and 4 great grandchildren, Noah and Annalise Quick and Alicia and Brandon Beland and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Friday March 25, 2011 from 4 to 8 pm at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral services will be on Saturday March 26 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
