Obituary

WORCESTER___Konstanty Sobiech, 89, formerly of 14 Bergin Lane, died Friday Jan. 16 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center. His wife, Alexandra (Rodowicz) Sobiech died in 1978.

He leaves two sons, Thaddeus Sobiech and his wife Genevieve and Roman J. Sobiech and his wife Anna, all of Worcester; a daughter, Jane Jachimczyk and her husband Walter of Auburn; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters, Jozef, Franciszek, Wladyslaw, Boleslaw, Stanislaw, Rozalia, Marianna and Franciszka. He was born and raised in Kadzidlo, Poland, son of Stanislaw and Rozalia Sobiech and has lived in Worcester since 1962.

Mr. Sobiech was a die cutter many years for John J. Adams Die Corp. and retired in 1977. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and the White Eagle Club. Mr. Sobiech was a veteran of the Polish Army.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday Jan. 20 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday Jan. 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Memorial Fund, 34 Ward St., Worcester, 01610 or to the Alzheimers Association, 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, 02140.
