Obituary

Audrey Marion (Russell) Heckbert, of Stoneham and formerly of Medford, died unexpectedly at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford on Sunday, March 20, 2011. Audrey was the beloved wife of the late Ronald W. Heckbert, Jr. She was 82 years old.
Born in Medford, on April 21, 1928, she was the beloved daughter of the late Leonard D. and Marion M. (Ash) Russell. Mrs. Heckbert was, for many years, an active member of the First Community United Methodist Church in Medford. She enjoyed singing in the choir and belonging to the Vater’s Circle. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. Above all, she was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother “GiGi” always enjoying time with her beloved family.
She will be very sorely missed by her loving children; Marsha L. and her husband, Daniel L. Votour of Medford, Alison M. and her husband, Daniel L. Reardon of Malden and Ronald W., III, and his wife Debbie A. Heckbert of Bridgewater, cherished grandchildren; Laurence V. and his wife, Colleen Votour, Christopher J. and his wife Gina Votour, Douglas R. and his wife Cheryl Votour, Cynthia L. and her husband, Alan Bransfield, Kimberly M. and her husband, Nathaniel Herron, Keith D. and Kevin D. Reardon, Danielle R., Michelle A. and Chantelle N. Heckbert, dear great-grandchildren; Nickolas, Noah, Ronald and Daniel Votour, Kaitlyn and Joshua Bransfield and Sarah, Kai and Aiden Herron, Devoted siblings; Barbara Heckbert, whom married Audrey’s brother-in-law, the late William M. Heckbert, of Medford, Dorothy Kraynick of Tewksbury and Leonard Russell of New Hampshire and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Robert, Bruce, Richard, Allan, Albert, Douglas and Joyce Russell and Amy Richmond, Shirley Steele and Alma Flaherty.
Her Funeral Service was celebrated in the First Community United Methodist Church, 55 Otis Street, Medford, Friday, March 25, 2011, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Visiting hours were held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Thursday, March 24, 2011, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was held in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Audrey’s memory be made to the First Community United Methodist Church, 55 Otis Street, Medford, Massachusetts 02155.
