Doris M. Holcomb, 86, of Mendon Rd., Cumberland, died Monday at Fatima Hospital in North Providence. She was the wife of the late Bertrand H. Holcomb.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Valmore and Adeline (Bousquet) Dumont. She was a lifelong resident of Cumberland.
Mrs. Holcomb was employed by Texans Instruments, General Instruments, and AT Cross before retiring in 1986.
She was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Parish and a member of the St. Agatha Sr. Citizens Club.
Doris enjoyed crocheting, dancing, and playing cards and bingo. Some of her most favorite times were camping trips with her family.
She is survived by a daughter Lorraine Samson, and her husband Brian, of Attleboro, three granddaughters, Kim Sammis, and Christy and Cindy Samson, three great-grandsons, Cullen, Ethan, and Brodie Sammis. She was the sister of Raymond Dumont of Bellingham, Maurice Dumont of Cumberland, Jeannette Larochelle of Cumberland, and Yvonne Ponton of FL.
Her funeral will be Friday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Rd. Cumberland. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5-8 pm.
