WORCESTER – Marguerite M. (Gentes) Laberge, 102, of 79 Gates Street died Saturday, January 17 in Holy Trinity Rehab after a brief illness.
Her husband Frank E. Laberge predeceases her. She leaves two daughters Rosemarie Neale wife of Albert of Worcester and Claire Petereit wife of Lothar of Dusseldorf, Germany; six grandchildren Francis Neale of Leicester, Kevin Neale of Holden, Carol Kenney of Worcester, Vera Foidl, Maja Goldschmidt and Ute Petereit all of Germany and 14 great grandchildren. She was born in Pierreville, Quebec, Canada in 1901 daughter of Willie and Rose (Coll) Gentes.
She arrived in the United States in 1917. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church and its Golden Age Society. She was a former member of Notre Dame Saint Anne’s Society. Mrs. Laberge enjoyed reading, playing cards and spending time with her family.
The funeral will be on Tuesday, January 20 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond St. with a mass at 10 am in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 53 Illinois Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday, January 19 from 6 to 8 pm in the funeral home.
