Collins Theo Rowell, 61, passed away March 11, 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia, North Carolina.
A celebration of life service was held at 1 P.M. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in the chapel of Ward Funeral Service, 220 South Broad Street, Gastonia, NC by the Rev. Jack Flemming. Burial will follow in Gaston Memorial Park, Garden of Prayer.
A native of Ben Hill County, he was the son of the late Albert and Aurelia Barnes Rowell; preceded in death by a sister, Bessie Mae Moore; brothers, Ernest Lee “Buddy” Rowell and Carlton Cleo Rowell. He was formerly employed by Freightliner Corporation, Mount Holly and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his partner in life, Shirley M. Broome of Gastonia, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Marikaye & Scott Sirmans of Ocilla; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan & Shanda Rowell of Silver Creek; sister, Virginia Whitaker of Alabama; brother, J.D. Rowell of Valdosta; grandchildren, Brylan Rowell, Kayla Sirmans and Sean Clark; great grandchildren, Rebekah and Brandi Clark.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Heart Society of Gaston County, 1201 E. Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054.
