James E. Fields, Jr., 46, of New Bedford died Wednesday January 14, 2004 unexpectedly at home. He was the husband of Beverly L. Fields, and son of Julia S. (Teixeira) Taylor of New Bedford James E. Fields of Colorado.
Mr. Fields was born in New Bedford and had lived on Cape Cod and in New Bedford for most of his life.
He was a member of the Temple of Restoration.
He was formerly employed as a construction worker by several construction companies.
Mr. Fields enjoyed martial arts, music, exercising, cars, and spending time with family and friends. He always reached out to those in need. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife; his parents; his stepfather, Jeremiah Taylor of New Bedford; a son, Daryel DaLomba, and his wife Roseli, of Cape Cod; 2 daughters, Sharie Fields of Cape Cod and Shawnte Cruz of New Bedford; 3 stepsons, Corey DeBarros of New York, and Jose Camacho and Adrien Camacho, both of New Bedford; a stepdaughter, Raena Camacho Robles, and her husband Jose, of Dartmouth; his brothers and sisters, Michael Fields of Mashpee, Kathy Dias of Arizona, Donna Mayes of South Carolina, Deidra Jarvis, Kim Cruz, Leslie Anderson, Roberta Robinson and Lisa Silva, all of New Bedford, and Elizabeth Taylor of California; 8 grandchildren, Jaylynn, Olivia, Domenic, Daryel Jr., Alize, Rahzel, Jose and Adrien; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.He was the brother of the late Ronald Taylor.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday January 20, 2004 at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday January 19, 2004 from 6-9 PM.
