Obituary

Maurice L. Harpin Sr. 90, of Lincoln St. died Friday at Lydia Taft House. He was the husband of the late Dorothy D. (Cauthorn) Harpin. Born in Woonsocket he was the son of the late Joseph and Fortunate (Langlois) Harpin. Mr. Harpin founded Harpin Tire in the late 1940's. He was a facilities manager for Wrentham State School for over ten years and had previously worked for the Draper Corporation for twenty years. Mr Harpin was a member of the Millerville Men's Club and an avid gardener.

He is survived by four sons Jerry Harpin of Attleboro, Maurice Harpin Jr. and Marc Harpin both of Millville and Lawrence "Larry" Harpin of Las Vagas, NV, two daughters Christine Wilson of FL, and Lynn Landry of Blackstone, a sister Muriel Masse of Blackstone, sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two children, Maurice Lawrence Harpin and Patricia Harpin and a sister Rita Marchand.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Theresa's Church, Rathbun St., Blackstone. Burial with Military Honors will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to the Maurice Harpin Memorial Scholarship Fund, Dean Bank, Main St., Blackstone, MA 01504 would be appreciated.
