Brother of Mary Kelly and Kate Boothby both of Whitman; Paula Moore of Carver; Cynthia Morgan of Plymouth; Bridget Walls of Rockland; Bonnie Ferris and Colleen Boothby both of Tewksbury; Chris Boothby of Abington and the late Joseph “Jay” Boyle; Mark; Thomas and Johanna Boothby. Grandfather of Ella Duffy and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 9 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Louis H. Boyle, 56 life long Brockton resident died from Cancer on Thursday at home in the company of his family and friends. He was the husband of Lauretta (Manning) Boyle. Louie attended St. Edward’s School and Coyle High School. He was a member of the Brockton Fire Dept. for 26 years achieving the rank of Captain and a Bachelors Degree in Fire Science. Lou was an avid golfer and a member of Thorny Lea Golf Club. In addition to golf, he loved sports, camping, the Maine Coast, Saratoga Springs, his dogs, cats and his home in Brockton. Captain Boyle was a member of the International Association of Firefighters Local 144 Brockton. He was a communicant of St. Edith Stein Church and an active volunteer at the Holy Cross Retreat House and My Brother’s Keeper in S. Easton.
He is survived by wife Lauretta A. (Manning) Boyle, three children, Robin (Tierney) Duffy of Brockton; Justin Cranshaw of Norton and Jonathan Tierney of Scituate, son of Kathleen Boothby of Abington and the late John and Dorothea Boyle, seven sisters, Mary Kelly and Kate Boothby both of Whitman; Paula Moore of Carver; Cynthia Morgan of Plymouth; Bridget Walls of Rockland; Bonnie Ferris and Colleen Boothby both of Tewksbury and a brother Chris Boothby of Abington and a granddaughter Ella Duffy and numerous nieces and nephews.
