Joyce Griffin, 74, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Sunday, March 20, 2011, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.
Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M., Monday, March 21 in the Arp Cemetery, Irwin County.
Mrs. Griffin was born May 13, 1936 in Fitzgerald to the late Buford & Jessie Clyde Justice Mullis. She lived in Fitzgerald most of her life. She was a Nurse for Dr. Roberts having received her training at the Ben Hill County Hospital. She also worked as a textile worker at Modern Textile, Modern Fibers, and Shaw. Mrs. Griffin was a member of the former Northside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by her daughter: Donna Chaney of Fitzgerald; her son: Brian Keith Griffin of Fitzgerald; two grandchildren: Harper Wade Chaney and Herschel Keith Tapp; three sisters: Sharon Rozier, Marsha Barefoot, and Dorothy Roberson; two brothers: Wayne Mullis and Jimmy Mullis; as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Riley Donald Griffin and a son: David Riley Griffin.
