TEWKSBURY - Ruth A. (Lynch) Lonergan, age 87, who was active in Tewksbury's senior community, died peacefully, Sunday, March 20, at Amesbury Village. She had been in residence for three years, and had previously resided at the Carnation Drive senior housing development in Tewksbury.
She was born in Charlestown, August 25, 1923, a daughter of the late Daniel and Lillian (Holm) Lynch, and lived in Dorchester before moving to Tewksbury.
She was a former officer for the Tewksbury Golden Age Club, and was a frequent traveler with the seniors, as well as a daily visitor to the Senior Drop-In Center.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kevin A. Lonergan and his wife Eileen (Clark) of Hampton, NH and Terrence M. Lonergan of Venice, FL; four grandsons, Owen, Ryley, Shaemus, and Eamonn Lonergan; her dear friend, Rita Coyle of Tewksbury; and many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, March 24, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial was in Tewksbury Cemetery.
