Phyllis (Watjen) Weber, 80, of Derry, NH, died Thursday, January 15, 2004 at her home. Mrs. Weber was born in Pawtucket, RI on July 17, 1923, a daughter of the late William E. and Elisa (Slocum) Watjen. She summered in North Salem with her parents where she met and married her husband Frederic H. Weber Sr. She was a resident of Derry since 1955. Phyllis was a graduate of Pawtucket High School in Rhode Island. While living in Rhode Island she owned and operated a furniture store. She was more recently employed in the office of FH Weber and Sons Earthmoving and Weber’s Trailer Park. She was a member of the N. Salem United Methodist Church in N. Salem. Since 1973, she had visited England 18 times to visit family and friends. In 1997, she was interviewed on the Today Show by Al Roker. Phyllis led a full and exciting life and touched the hearts of many, she will be deeply missed by all.
She is survived by two sons, Frederic H. Weber Jr. and his wife Roberta of Derry, Thomas Weber of Derry, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews from California to Rhode Island. She was predeceased by her husband Frederic H. Weber Sr in 1988.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 20th at 10:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Burial will be in the spring in the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry. Friends may call on Monday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the N. Salem United Methodist Church, PO Box 206, N.
