Obituary

FALL RIVER … Deacon Frank W. Mis, 90, of Amity Street formerly of Osborn Street died Friday, March 18, 2011.
He was the widower of Mary (Lindo) Mis.
He died at St. Anne’s Hospital, Fall River.
He was born in Fall River a son of the late Vincent and Helena (Kipa) Mis and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
He was employed as a foreman at the former Arkwright Finishing for over 40 years retiring in 1985.
He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Church, Rockland Street, Fall River where he served as Permanent Deacon and Minister to the sick. He was made Permanent Deacon in 1980. He was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and Men’s Club at St. Stanislaus.
He served in the United States Navy during W.W.II.
Deacon Mis was a member of the P.N.A. Lodge 1887 and Kosciwski Men’s Club both of Fall River, and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 486 of Fall River.
Survivors include a daughter Judith Proctor of Sarasota, FL, a son Vincent W. Mis of Somerset, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Thaddeus W. Mis and brother of the late Anna Pytel, Henry Mis and Stanley Mis.
Funeral Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 36 Rockland Street, Fall River. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be Monday 4 – 8 PM at St. Stanislaus Church.
